Back to Tax Preparation
Persons too busy or too far away to come in use our mail-in, drop-off service
Clients need to provide us all source documents that are copied to the IRS, such as W-2's, 1099's, 1098's, and K-1's. If real estate was purchased, sold, or refinanced, the settlement statement(s) should be included. Other tax information can be summarized on worksheets or in an organizer. First time clients need to include a copy of last year's tax return.
Contact information, such as phone number and/or email address is essential.
Materials can be sent via first-class mail, FedEx, or other overnight service. We have had excellent experience with all of these. Registered mail is the safest. Of course, the materials can just be dropped off at the office.
When materials are received, we send an acknowledgement. If we have questions or need more information, we will contact the client. Of course, we encourage clients to call us with questions or to explain something.
When the return is completed, we will notify the client before sending it. If we see tax-saving opportunities or have other comments on the return or materials, we will call or include a note with the completed return. Materials should be sent to: Daniel J. Brown, CPA & Associates 137 N Oak Park Avenue Suite 320 Oak Park, IL 60301
